The living 4 wall panels that were growing at Snidle Gallery in San Francisco were transported to the Saint Regis Hotel 5 blocks away to be displayed for the Sustainable Industries Forum. The mature living wall has been growing for 9 months. The 30 pound panels were supported by pipe frames to create a living backdrop for Buro Happold Consulting Engineers. After the one day exhibition the panels were returned to the sunny windows of the gallery.
Lianne Gold of Neptuna Gallery hosted the display of our newest Floraframe 36-Pocket at her store front on Abbot Kenny Blvd., in Venice Beach (Los Angeles) California. The streets were flooded with visitors for the First Friday where shops are open late and the latest trend of gourmet food trucks line the sidewalks. The living wall display of colorful tropicals made it’s short appearance at Neptuna before being transported to LA Tropicals greenhouse showroom where it will be on view for designers and interior-scapers in the Los Angeles Area.
The Floraframe total system includes the 24-Pocket Panel with galvanized frame and water tank, pump and timer. Shown here with a variety of tropical plants at Succulence Nursery in San Francisco.
These two vertical gardens are on display at SF Foliage in San Francisco. Each living wall measures 5-1/2′ wide by 8′ tall. The walls were originally planted in May of this year. After two months the walls have grown in with very little attention. Today we re-arranged the plants slightly to make some design improvements and add some fresh color.
PlantsOnWalls installed two living walls at SF Foliage. Each one measures 5′-4″ wide by 8′-0″ high. They each use 4 of the Full 24-Pocket panels filled with tropical plants. Root Wrappers were used to place the plants and automatic irrigation lines were installed for a drain-to-waste type system. Feel free to visit the installations at SF Foliage, at 1150 Phelps in San Francisco. Phone: (415) 648-4406.
Succulence Nursury in San Francisco is selling planted and unplanted pleated planters. Ken Shelf has prepared delightful arrangements that are intended to grow in and become entire works of art.
Plants On Walls traveled to Fort Lauderdale to show at the 2010 TPIE Show. We were overwhelmed with interest in our Florafelt Pocket Panel full wall display, the Small, Wide and Tall Pocket Panel, and a Stainless Steel Florafelt Recirc-33 on display. We also demonstrated how to use Root Wrappers. Leaving portions of the full wall unplanted gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how to wrap the roots of plants and simply slide them into the pockets.
We were also delighted and surprised to receive the Retailer’s Choice Award. The recognition comes from retailers choosing booths having the top 10 innovative products. We also were asked to formally present our products to the group.
