In a much-needed spring renewal for all of us in 2021, the living wall at the San Francisco Botanical Garden Bookstore gets a refresh and restoration. Older plants are trimmed back and fresh, flowering color is added.
The amazing volunteers wrapped the plants and filled the Florafelt Pockets in a single day. Even after 4 years, the felt is easily cleaned with a hose, and the root wraps are as durable as ever.
The Florafelt Pockets living wall system was donated by Chris Bribach of Plants On Walls in 2016. It’s ever-changing beauty has become a well-loved feature, as well as a tangible asset for bookstore and nursery sales. Located at the entrance of the park, the bookstore is open to the public.

Florafelt Wraps Reused for Living Wall Renewal
The San Francisco Botanical Garden Bookstore asked Chris from Plants On Walls to refresh the Florafelt Pockets living wall garden design. Chris uses reusable Florafelt Wraps to swaddle ferns and colorful flowering perennials to the wall.
