A towering living wall for a private residence is the showstopper of three recent projects from Living Walls Edmonton. Interior Plantscape Designer Chris Myers makes a bold statement with his unbound design in a loft that soars to the second floor. Only Florafelt Pocket Panels make it possible to have such a dramatic home feature. It’s always necessary to change plants from time to time and Florafelt makes it easy. Simply remove the struggling plant by lifting if from the pocket and sliding the replacement inside, restoring the wall to full vibrancy in a matter of minutes.
The clean lines of crisp surrounds provide stylish frames for the planted units, including the show display seen here. Recessed stainless tanks for irrigation integrate seamlessly and collect runoff for maximum water conservation. Micro LED lights in the frames provide supplemental lighting but also create theatrical contrasts of greenery and shadow.
In the final new project from Chris Myers, an office project softens a casual meeting spot. The positive effects of plants in the workplace are well-known. A small living wall summons our innate human comfort with nature and inspires a spirit of collaboration and trust..
